So how does Best Dressed work?
Here’s the gist ...
Come in and we’ll help you find the perfect dress, styling you out with jewelry and accessories. Choose a pick-up and drop-off date. Rentals are for 5 days. But we do last-minute rentals, too. Because, life. Feel free to come in on the same day as your event. We get it. Otherwise, we’ll have your dress pristine + waiting on pick-up day. And we’ll take care of the dry cleaning when you drop it off.
What can I expect for prices?
A: Dresses start at $40, and go up to $150 depending on the dress. Dry cleaning is included and the rental period is 5 days.
How about sizes?
A: We currently carry sizes 0-14.
How long is the rental period?
A: 5 days. We find that works best for most clients. But if you need an extension, talk to us!
Oooh, can I extend my rental past the 5 days?
A: No problem! As long as the dress isn’t reserved immediately after you, you can hold onto it for an additional $5/day.
How far in advance do I need to reserve a dress?
A: Planners, procrastinators – no judgement. You can reserve up to three months in advance, or walk out with the dress that same day (based on availability).
When’s the best time to come in and start looking?
A: We suggest about 3-6 weeks prior to your event if you want to be the most relaxed, but we’re here help you find a dress all the way up to day of your event (deep breaths!)
Do I need to make an appointment?
A: Nope. Stop in any time that’s convenient for you.
Can I see dresses online?
A: Our collection changes a lot, so it’s best to come in to see our full selection. We also showcase new dresses on Instagram @rentbestdressed (check the stories). And if you’re looking for something specific, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll work with you.
How can I reserve a dress?
A: Come in, or call us at 617.765.8661.
Where are you located?
A: We are located at 489 E Broadway in South Boston. We’re definitely expanding. And we sometimes pop up in other places, too. To find out more follow us on social @rentbestdressed.
What are your hours?
A: Our South Boston shop is open Tues-Wed 12-7 | Thurs 11-8 | Fri 11-7 | Sat 11-5 | Sun 11-4 | (closed on Mondays).
STYLE & FIT
Can you alter a dress?
A: We're on team you, and we want to make alterations, but what we can do varies dress by dress. Please ask your stylist for more info.
Do you offer style advice?
A: Do we ever. We love to style you! All the styling advice you want is complimentary when you come see us.
Do you rent bridesmaids’ dresses?
A: We’ve helped many brides create their own unique bridal party looks with dresses from Best Dressed, but we don’t carry dresses that are identified as “bridesmaid dresses.”
Do you rent bridal gowns?
A: At this time, we don’t rent traditional bridal gowns. But if you’re a non-traditional bride, maybe having a beachy or destination wedding, we’d love (like, really love) to style you in one of our dresses.
Do I need to clean the dress before I return it?
A: Nope, kick back on insta with a latte. We take care of the dry cleaning!
What happens if I damage a dress? Do you have an insurance policy?
A: You can buy insurance for just $5, which covers minor repairs (e.g. replacing a hook/button, or a ripped seam). Without insurance, we may have to charge you for necessary repair(s).
Of course, if you damage the dress beyond repair, we’ll likely need to charge you the full retail value.
Can I ship my rental back?
A: Sure, you may ship your rental back to the store you rented it from. However, we can’t ship dresses out and don’t cover shipping costs.
Can I change my rental?
A: Sure. You can change your rentals 30 days prior to your pick-up date. Stop in and our stylists will help you find another dress. If there’s a price difference, we will either charge your card or issue a store credit for the difference.
Can I cancel my rental?
A: Reservations may be cancelled by contacting us 30 days before your pick-up date, and you’ll receive a store credit to use the next time you’re in.
What is your late return policy?
A: Respect your sisters, who are probably waiting on that dress! If you don’t return your dress by close of business on the date on your contract, we will need to charge you $75/day, for up to 5 days. For dresses that are not returned after the 5 days are up, you are charged a maximum of 200% of the retail value. (Yes, we want to encourage you to get that dress back for the woman who’s been dreaming about it.)
How does store credit work?
A: Your account simply updates with your credit details. Store credit never expires and may be applied towards any Best Dressed purchase.
BUYING & SELLING
I’m loving my dress rental. Do you have other offerings I can rent or buy?
A: We sell jewelry, clutches/bags, undergarments and fashion solutions (all final sale). We often have dress sales in store, too. Sign up for our emails to get on the list.
What if I want to buy the dress I rented? Pretty please?
A: If you fall in love with a dress that isn’t reserved in the future, talk to us. We’ll see what we can do!
Do you purchase dresses from clients?
A: We don’t at this time, but in the future, who knows? Our clients have a great eye!
Do you sell gift cards?
A: We do offer gift cards for any amount. Here’s who loves getting them: everyone. (And especially newlyweds, gals with new jobs – and office holiday parties, and young women graduating from high school and off to college formals.)
